- The Furuno FAR-2xx8 series radar was released in November 2017 as the successor to the FAR-2xx7 series.
- The FAR-2xx8 series represents the next generation of Furuno's commercial radars, building upon the foundation of the popular FAR-2xx7 series. It offers advanced features and improved performance compared to its predecessor, and includes both magnetron and solid-state (NXT) radar models.
- This series is chosen for its advanced navigation safety technologies, including Automatic Clutter Elimination (ACE) for clear images and Fast Target Tracking (FTT) for rapid collision avoidance. It also features a refined antenna design for reliability and easier maintenance, and an intuitive user interface with an InstantAccess bar for frequently used functions.
