Did you know
- The Furuno FE-800 Echo Sounder was introduced around early 2015, with its BAM (Bridge Alert Management) capability implemented via a software update after its initial release. It represents a new generation of IMO Echo Sounders, building upon Furuno's extensive experience in developing underwater application equipment.
- The FE-800 is a navigational echo sounder, succeeding models like the FE-700. While the FE-800 features a new display and processor, it maintains compatibility with the transducers and other below-deck equipment used with the previous FE-700 model, facilitating retrofitting.
- The FE-800's primary strengths lie in its compliance with IMO standards for safe navigation, its dual-frequency display capability (50/200 kHz) for simultaneous fore and aft depth readings, and its high-contrast 8.4-inch color LCD. It also offers various display modes and the ability to store and playback depth data for up to 24 hours.
