Did you know
- The Furuno FE-700 echo sounder was introduced around December 2004, with documentation updates in 2004 and a manual published in January 2000, suggesting its development and release spanned this period. It represents a progression in Furuno's echo sounder technology, moving away from traditional paper-based sounders.
- The FE-700 is a navigational echo sounder within Furuno's product line, succeeded by models like the FE-800. While the FE-700 features a 6.5-inch color LCD, the later FE-800 offers a larger 8.4-inch color LCD and built-in dual-frequency capability.
- The FE-700 is chosen for its cost-effectiveness due to its paperless operation, eliminating the need for consumables, and its compliance with IMO standards for safe navigation. It offers high accuracy and reliability, with automatic adjustments for range and gain, and the ability to store depth data for 24 hours.
