- The International (AkzoNobel) Intersleek 425 was introduced in 1996 as the first patented biocide-free coating for the shipping industry. It was also introduced to the North American power, water, and wastewater segment in October 2014 as Intersleek 381/425.
- The Intersleek 425 is an earlier generation in the Intersleek foul release coating family. It was succeeded by Intersleek 700 in 1999, which was designed for deep-sea vessels. Later iterations include Intersleek 900 (2007), Intersleek 1100SR (2013), and Intersleek 1000.
- Intersleek 425 is a silicone elastomer foul release coating that provides a biocide-free alternative to conventional antifoulings. Its low surface energy allows for easy cleaning, which helps minimize maintenance costs associated with fouling removal.
