- The Euronavy ES301 is a solvent-free anticorrosive epoxy coating that was introduced by Sherwin-Williams in November 2009, following their acquisition of Euronavy-Tintas Maritimas e Industriais S.A. in December 2008. Euronavy, founded in 1981, was known for being the first company globally to receive approval for a solvent-free epoxy coating system.
- The Euronavy ES301 is part of Sherwin-Williams Marine's broader portfolio of protective and marine coatings, specifically within the Euronavy series of solvent-free, surface- and humidity-tolerant modified epoxies. It is often used as an intermediate or topcoat within an ES301-based coating system.
- The Euronavy ES301 is chosen for its ability to be applied over marginally prepared surfaces, including damp steel and flash-rust, without dew point restrictions, which significantly reduces application time and costs. It offers excellent anticorrosive properties, superior impact resistance, and good chemical and abrasion resistance.
