- DECKMA Hamburg GmbH, a company supplying oil-in-water monitors since the early 1970s, introduced the OMD-series of oil-in-water monitors in 1996 with the OMD-7 Industrial Monitor. The OMD-2005 is part of this OMD-series, designed specifically for 15 ppm bilge alarm applications.
- The OMD-2005 is an industry-standard, IMO-compliant bilge alarm within Deckma Hamburg's OMD series. Newer versions in the series include the OMD-24 and OMD-2008, which are also MEPC.107(49) approved.
- The OMD-2005 is widely recognized for its reliability, long service life, and accurate measurement technology, ensuring compliance with international environmental regulations like MARPOL. It features continuous real-time monitoring, automatic alarm functions, and a data logger with an 18-month operating history.
