- The Basler Electric DECS-400 Digital Excitation Control System was first printed in January 2005. It was designed as a microprocessor-based controller for excitation control, flexible logic control, and optional power system stabilization for synchronous machines.
- The DECS-400 is part of Basler Electric's DECS (Digital Excitation Control System) line, positioned as a versatile option for excitation currents up to 2500 Adc. It has been succeeded by the DECS-450, which is backward compatible and offers an easy retrofit process.
- The DECS-400 is chosen for its versatility in both exciter field and static exciter applications, supporting up to 2500 Adc, making it suitable for new installations and retrofits. It offers precise voltage regulation within 0.20% from no-load to full-load and includes a built-in Dynamic System Analyzer and BESTCOMS software for field testing and tuning.
