- The R449 is positioned as a standard-fit shunt-type AVR for LSA50 to LSA54 series alternators. It replaces and upgrades older Leroy-Somer AVR models such as the R438 and R448. While it is an analog model, Leroy-Somer has since introduced digital voltage regulators like the D350, D550, and D700, which offer enhanced functions and higher accuracy.
