Description
Deck hydraulic power units — the electric-motor-driven pump sets, oil tank, filtration, cooling and valves that feed a ship's windlasses, mooring winches and deck cranes, and the deck piping between them. An HPU is sized to the ship's whole deck-machinery load, not to one machine, so the same windlass model can run off different HPUs on different ships — which is why its spares are listed here and not under the windlass (^JB).
